immobiliser problem

Hi there,
I have a 1997 scenic 1.6rte that started up, stalled before pulling away and now is just turning over as if immobiliser is on.
RAC man been out and checked top dead sensor(cleaned and replaced), Cleaned the fuse under bonnet side of battery terminals, checked for a spark (NO SPARK) the relay under bonnet to fuel pump primer is clicking he bypassed this to prime still no spark.

His only conclusion is that immobiliser is stuck on!

My key fob still operates central locking, the red light on speedo works as should ie- when car is locked light flashes etc.......

Iv tried disconecting battery whilst key in position 1 and 2 this did not work, and checked top centre panel where central locking sensor is and it looks fine no water marks etc...

Does anyone have any other suggestions please???
