Hi Russ - sounds like a great idea - I was just a bit concerned by its technology - being electro-magnetic I mean - which tends to favour metals rather than people. Its range also seems a bit short and only starts at somewhere between 18 - 30 inches. Additionally the blurb doesn't mention the width of the scanning area - could be you have a scanning area the width of the bumper but only a few centimetres deep. In other words it may not be able to spot your dog or cat. I also assume that the thickness and composition of the bumper material would also have an affect. With many modern cars with multiplex wiring it could be difficult depending on its power consumption.
