Question High mileage used cars - good buy or not?

Ok my cars gone now so it's a clean slate for finding my next one. So tootling around in my partners car looking around it is!

High mileage on 2007/8 cars with fsh - good or bad idea? Seen a few (petrol) with between 100-140k on the clock but not sure if a good thing as price is tempting. I've read higher mileage can be good as it's likely long motorway driving with less strain than city stop start driving. I know there's good and bad points but what is the general thoughts on cars like this? I'm not talking really old cars with high mileage. I know older cars with Low mileage will also have bad points too.
