Beware of "Standard Adapters"

Hi - I work full time in car audio systems, and would just warn to be very careful of so-called standard adapters for ISO to mini-iso (or indeed any other combination).
Car audio CD changer cables contain power wires, data wires, and audio data wires, some of which may be digital or analogue. Most of the audio manufacturers use different "protocols" so that the changers from Renault for example will not work with a radio from Rover, Citroen, etc. - they are built for Renault, and designed to be used with very specific it's usually not a case of just using a standard adapter.
If you can confirm exactly which make and model of headunit you have fitted, and which make & model changer you have, then I can (usually) confirm compatibility & recommend suitable wiring - if it exists.
