It is possible. The problem is that is it difficult to alter as indicated.
With my last Espace it was a piece of cake but with my current Scenic it took ages to do, but not using the method described - using a 'similar' method to the handbook
However what I think you want it to do is not possible. You cannot alter the odometer without altering the speedo. I believe it would be illegal for your vehicle to be driven for any length of time in this country as it will only show Kph. The older analogue speedos were not a problem as they usually had the speedo reading both Kph and Mph or you could obtain a mask which was stuck to the speedo.
