I assume it is working automatically when you turn engine off ?
And will engage manually as well as disengage?

Assuming so, there is a switch on the clutch pedal that can get knocked or the wires kicked out.
I'd be looking at that first.
You should find three switches, one at bottom and one at top, both simple push switches.
And one in the middle operated by a lever mechanism.
It's that one.
