Why am I considering taking a car to a main dealer for a service?
...in order to maintain it's resale value. Although I have to admit I am unsure as to exactly how much truth there is in a car that has a full dealer service history yielding a higher resale value than one with no official service history.
The 4yr service covers everything including A/C.
If I had a petrol engine then I would consider servicing it myself. I used to change
, filters, plugs, service brakes, etc on all my previous cars.
A further consideration is that if I take the car to any Tom, **** or Harry then are they likely to provide the same level of service as a main dealer. There is no question that they will be cheaper, but well they check/change belts, A/C etc. I have been offered a cheap service by a guy in a tyre centre who claims to have a friend that used to work for Renault, but can I trust he will provide a decent service.
Perhaps I will find a local Renault specialist garage that will service to Renault standards.
