Hi Stu - the lights are controlled via the
which monitors voltage and current and is similar to that fitted to the Laguna II. If you don't fit the correct resistors the system thinks there is a fault in the system and will continually show a fault. The internal light works on a different system although on some cars if you fit the incorrect bulb in the courtesy lights it can upset the delayed timed switch-off system if fitted. Unless your are handy at electronics and a soldering iron I doubt if its is worth the bother.
