The goodgaragescheme.

It has linked me to a local private garage specialising in Renault and diesels. Apparently, all garages that sign up to this site must follow industry standard service checklists. Another feature is customer feedback too. Checklists are provided to customers on completion of service; all replaced parts are to be made available for customer inspection and there is a strict code of conduct which must be adhered to by all garages.

It sounds more positive than an unknown, unverified garage/mechanic. At least the service would be documented by a verified garage, one which is also a Renault specialist.

I will phone the garage tomorrow morning, tell the mechanic exactly what I expect and see if he can deliver the goods at an affordable price.

Actually, one or two other garage servicing schemes i have found on the web are no cheaper than the Renault dealer service centres. By the time A/C, belts and VAT is added there is little difference.

One thing for sure I will be insisting on a quality oil . The little Clio has served me well, and still clocks over 70mpg. I want to keep it that way.

may be an idea to post a link to the wesite on the "Links" section if the forum
