Don't suppose it'll affect Lorries & Vans.
Certainly interesting.

Re: Is this the death knell for the humble diesel engine

The key here is "More than 60% of the 1.6 million cars Renault sold in Europe last year were diesels" is Renault going to rule itself out of this market ?

Re: Is this the death knell for the humble diesel engine

That's a very big Diesel engine manufacturer saying we can not meet these
standards "no doubt set by a faceless wounder that knows nothing about engines
but lots about how to keep there own little gravy train on the tarks" at a price normal
people can afford. I won't be buying a Diesel with a particulate filter, I can feel
a Moggy Minor coming on, pre 1960, no mot or tax most tech thing a voltage
reg for the dynamo mend it with a small selection of hammers no depreciation.
Get a good solid one and I will see me out.
As long as I can get on the floor and grease the steering
trunnions twice a year job will be a good un.

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.

First sentence: +1
Last sentence: look at Brasil, can't buy diesel unless it's a lorry/van, petrol engines run on alcohol.
