This echoes my recent views when answering a Forum user with S/S Problems.

Re: How much use is Stop Start Technology?

Hate S/S myself and so glad my new car (well in 2014) didn't come with it.

Just another expensive thing to go wrong.

Spent years driving cars that were slightly temperamental, okay, POS that maybe would not start twice in a row.
Not gonna have or want a car that switches itself off.

Re: How much use is Stop Start Technology?

Just yesterday I read (haven't verified yet) that since new fuel consumption test cuts in half the time a car spends stationary (from 25% of overall test time to 12%), a Japanese automaker ditched the S&S system as it won't present any advantage.

I for one won't miss it, but I'd lie saying it's a complete misunderstanding.

Re: How much use is Stop Start Technology?

I kind of like my stop start

It is i guess the main reason my road tax is only 30 a year

Oh and it is only the press of a button to turn it off
