Re: Fix: disable automatic parking brake (Scenic 2, other models may apply)

With all due respect for your solution, what problem ?

That Scenics (and other Renaults) will chuck up parking brake faults at times?
And one solution, to avoid all the irritating messages that say things like Stop! is to disable the automatic function.

That is all fine and may well be a suitable solution in many places around the world.
All I've said is it may not be in the UK due to MOT requirements.
That, whether or not you like it is fact.
What you call reminiscing about personal experiences are simply an example on how contrary and subjective the test can be in the UK.

I know you have said no problem, just pop the fuse back in and it works as before.
Which is fine.
Except working as before may well start the error messages again. Which are an MOT failure in the UK.

Please do not get me wrong.
I am not saying your solution is wrong, dangerous or will not work.
In fact I've saved it in my unofficial workshop manual.

All I've done is highlight an issue that it may cause in the UK.
And only raised that so the sort of people (that we do see) who seize on a solution and blindly apply it, have relevant information that they ought to know.
Like it or not, that is staying on topic.
