Replaced both abs rings, if you are doing one may as well do both. Same with the tyres, changed both as the tread was down to about 2mm. Strangely though it passed the emissions test without any work on the car or it leaving the garage ?
A sceptical person may read something into that.

Won't be using that test center again, I'll be trying the local council depot.
Emissions can change depending on humidity, fuel type, air temperature, etc, etc. Both the equipment measurement results and the car compensating for the conditions can be affected by the above.

What are the readings it gave from both?

At the local MOT garage here, if it fails on emissions, they give it a good rag round the block (clears out any crap) and retest. Usually this works - especially if its commonly being used around cities and short journeys. If not, then sometimes a bottle of fuel system cleaner (redex), or a more significant fault is lurking (air system leak, fuel injectors, failed cat, etc).

Currently in SimonC1's garage:
2005 Laguna 2 (Phase 2) V6 Initiale, 2007 Civic 2.2CTDi
