I always leave mine in gear - whole point of autos around town

The Scenic doesn't urge forward when staionary like my MkII Golf 1800 auto did (that required putting into neutral). OTOH it's not quite as smooth as a BMW 320 I owned.

I'm even considering getting the new Grand Scenic Auto.

p.s. My mate had an Espace V6 Auto which had loads of auto 'box problems, an engine bay fire, overheating & finally died when both head gaskets had blown.
