The windscreen is split into 2 areas for the MOT.The 'A' zone and 'B' zone.
The A zone is the swept area(where the wipers clean) immediately in front of the driver.Any damage (or combination of damage i.e 2 chips that are very close together) that is larger than 10mm in diameter fails.
The B zone is everywhere else within the swept area (i.e passenger side) and damage cannot be larger than 40mm in diameter.
Scratches have to be deemed to be excessive to fail and the area outside the swept area is not testable.
As long as the chips in your screen are not close together and are smaller than 40mm in diameter then your windscreen should be fine.
