What he said.

Quick check.
Find an open, straight, flat and clear stretch of road.
Get speed up to about 20 in centre of road to avoid any camber.
Brake to a standstill.
See if it stops straight.
Any pull may not be brakes as steering geometry and tyres can also cause pulling but will give an indication of problems.

More scientific.
Go to MOT station, have a chat and ask if they can stick the motor on a brake test before MOT so you can sort problems before the real thing.
Many will do FOC, most will be a small charge.
If they won't play ball, I wouldn't use them for an MOT anyway.
