lag temp sensor

Hi Madnoel- my mates got a fault code reader , it was giving a reading of _ 30 cold even for this country. The fault code reader showed air intake sensor fault , and would not let us remove the code. We dissconected the sensor and now it reads 20 , is this a default setting in the ecu ? . The car runs fine no lights on and seems better on fuel, does make me wonder if its doing any harm. Thanks for your reply.
