Re: Car Stuck in French Garage - Insanely Expensive Quote

Unfortunately we're both working full-time, and the breakdown cover will only pay for one flight to collect the car, so if we had to stay in France for any length of time to deliver the turbo the price could add up. Could be worth looking into though, if I can find out how much the labor is as a proportion of the quote. Perhaps even having the turbo sent to them could help, if they are prepared to accept that..

I slightly suspect it will be hard to persuade them of innovative solutions to lowering the cost, as the scale of the initial cost comes from a desire to take advantage of stranded travelers without any options.

Not yet sure whether it is just the turbo in isolation, my French isn't the best and the garage take a while to get back to us. My impression was that it was just the turbo .

Unfortunately the travel insurance is rather basic in it's coverage.
