Petrol Engine EGR?

Hi all, I hope this thread doesn't seem a little silly.

I bought a "cheap" autodata manual CD today, 'twas just a fiver and looked interesting. Loaded up the details for my car and lo and behold - EGR valve. Now I've read numerous posts about EGR problems, but I was under the impression that only diesels have an EGR . If my petrol car does, then fair enough, but should it?

I'm well aware that with this CD being, erm, cheapish then there maybe some duff info on there! But everything else engine-wise (and everything else really) is spot on for my car. The engine code for my car is K7M, but this CD suggests K7M 702/703, where on the 703 only it includes an EGR .

As I said I'm probably being silly but I reckon the fiver for this was worth it anyway as the timing belt change instructions alone are really spot on!

Cheers, Bob
