lag intake air temp sensor

Problem solved , the air temp sensor can be removed from the intake pipe , not what renault told me, they said it came as one part hence the price 190 inc. VAT bargain not , it is fitted into a rubber gromet and comes out easy. A friend has got a megan 1.6 petrol the air temp sensor fitted to it has got the same connector but screwed into the air pipe, instead of the rubber gromet, this got me thinking . We fitted the sensor from the megan to my laguna it worked fine and we could remove the fault code from the ecu . The price from a motor factor was 15 pounds, even better i managed to get the number of the original sensor and they managed to get me one for under 15 pounds inc. VAT. Thats a bit of a saving, goes to show the importance of part numbers as they told me it was renault only beforhand.
