Looking at the wiring diagrams I have it would appear that the electrical system works as you describe. As for the manufacturer of the switch I do not know. Generally Renault use a lot of Valeo parts but there may be more than one manufacturer for each item. I have ordered off
a couple of 2000 Scenic mirror switches to disect and try to get to the bottom of where the weakness lies.
We live in a particularly damp part of the country by a river and I wonder if this accelerates the weakness already present by moisture entering the switch?
I will open the switches up and I am really hoping I will see something obvious. Also I am going to get a switch of one of the latest model Scenics and compare the construction to see if there have been any major revisions.
Will keep you posted!
Cheers - Dave
