High octain give more bangs for yer buck..and its necessary if you drive a non converted vintage car DD
..but for a clio it shouldn't need it ..the one thing I never do if I can avoid it is use supermarket fuels..I always use a petrol station near me the fuel is more refined and they use additives to keep your engine clean when super market fuel quite often dont..
But we are not talking hi octane ratings, just deseasal in a humble DCI.
I'm even more cynical about named brands being different then super fuels BTW, I'd never bet that the Shell tanker doesn't fill up from the same storage tank as the Asda one.
