It,s surprising how much power is sapped from the engine and fuel consumption goes up when the aircon is working, what size engine do you have? It affects small engines more than big ones. If I want to accelarate quickly or on a steep uphill I turn the aircon off.

The buzzing sound you hear could be the extra strain on the compressor drive belt or the compressor itself.

I do not gett any extra noise when I switch mine on though.
