My wife has 2001 Clio II Auto 1.6. It sometimes will not start though usually does so eventually, sometimes after as long as 10 minutes after many attempts. The engine attempts to fire but fails. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with weather or use. It had a new battery in March, and we have had the fuel pump and Top Dead Centre sensor checked at the local Renault dealer on separate occasions. It is possible one or more of the
may need replacing but usually when those go we notice the engine misfiring. I note another thread suggests trying the spare key. Any suggestions as to what else we should look at are welcome. It is frustrating that the Renault dealer cannot explain the cause. They even kept it overnight last time, and said they couldn't find anything wrong.
