If the engine doesn't turn over then it could be one of a number of things.
First thing to do is check you have a 12 volt feed to the small wire on the starter motor when you turn the ignition to the start position.
If you haven't then it's likely to be a fault with the igntion switch or an electrical fault some where.Try running a separate wire to the starter from the battery and see if engine turns over to confirm this.Try checking the main fuses also.
If you have got a feed then either the starter motor is faulty(try tapping the solenoid with a hammer to see if this helps),or the engine has locked up(i.e cambelt failure?).Try turning the crank pulley clockwise with a spanner(but don't force it)to see if the engine is free.
