Hi Truckbusuk, As predicted the lamp failed the next day, Went to Renault , they did not have either the bulb or ballast unit in stock, Should get job done on Monday. Is there still a high failure rate on xenon ballast units ? I suspect it is the ballast unit as I had three replaced on my previous Laguna but never a bulb. Costs all covered as I have extended warrenty to 100,000 miles with Harmony cover.

Glad your making progress on this, as to the failures ... I've had 2 ballast units in my Espace IV (2004) so I'm not sure, but I have noticed that most of the Renault models on sale today only have conventional headlamps, with Xenons available as an option on everything except the top-of-the-range variants. Maybe its cost cutting or maybe they are fairly unreliable?
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
