Re: Low speed airbag deployment
The SRS system has an accelerometer which reacts to sudden changes in G-forces and therefore is not speed related. It can also depend if the car is travelling uphill or downhill. Strange thing is a member of this forum from New Zealand went off the road and the car rolled down an embankment albeit slowly and the SRS system did not deploy. It would seem it is the rate of acceleration or deceleration that triggers operation.
