I think what they mean is the nearest battery they can supply in a form that will fit is 72Ah, 680 CCA. Not quite the same thing & not up to the original spec I'm afraid. The original battery is a non-standard size which I guess accounts for the Renault 120 quid price tag.

The 096 battery is slightly smaller than the standard fit. Not fitted the new one as yet as I need to remove various covers & the air intake. On the 3.0 the air filter is behind the battery & the intake pipe goes across the top of the battery pinning it in.

I think the capacity on the old one is waning - not helped by the fact is currently makes short journeys as my wife uses it mid-week. Hence, I would rather wait until that pattern changes before installing the new if I can.
