Usually the sensors are fitted outboard of the centreline, enough that the towball/bracket is not seen.
The two central sensors on my Sedona are same height as tow ball and about 18" apart, never been an issue.
You will need a switch to turn the beep off when you are actually towing. Unless you like the tone when you stick the thing in reverse with a trailer on.
