Sorry for the delayed response.
The top of the dashboard has to be removed to get at the speedo etc,which sounds like a big job,but in fact is very straight foward.I think there are 4 or 6 T20 headed screws that have to come out and the top just lifts off.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
