I always thought if you presented a car 3 weeks early for an MOT it would start from the day the old one expired.
They have to see the previous MOT certificate. ....took my old certificate and my new one expires in 12.5 months.
You are correct jplant1981. The garages don't issue certificates these days as all MOT records are held electronically. It sounds like an oversight on the garage who renewed your MOT. I believe they can correct your new MOT to have the correct expiry date of +3weeks if you speak with them about it.
Don't take without giving in return
