Hello Racestyle,welcome to the forum.
If you have replaced the starter motor for a new one and it still doesn't start,then I suspect that the earth connections are corroded between the engine and body/battery.
Just one thing,have you tested the battery under load?.A battery can show 12 volts when it's not being used,but as soon as a load is put accross it the voltage can drop dramatically.Try testing it with the igniton and headlights on.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
