warning lights.

Hi to you all, driving home today i noticed the tickover was alot higher than normal, also the injection fault together with the service light came on briefly a few times, when they did it went into limp home mode but only for a short time. On this model 98 lag 19 tdi the accelerator cable does not go straight to the diesel pump , it goes to an electrical divice that sends a signal to the pump. After opening and closing this divice manually by hand letting it snap back on its spring the tickover went back to normal with no lights on the dash. Can anyone please tell me what this part is called and if it is a renault only part, or better still if the part can be fixed, it looks like a sealed unit to me. Truckster.
