I've popped over to this forum to find out why my 2001 1.8 Laguna keeps going mental and I've found someone who has exactly the same problem!!!
It started two days after I got the car. Whilst driving in traffic, the car just lost power but it seemed to fix itself. No lights on the dash.
Then whilst trundling down the M1, it lost power but the engine was revving between 2500-3000rpm. After a few minutes the 'electronic fault' light came on.
I disconnected/reconnected the battery and the car was fine for a few days.
Occasionally, the car would splutter and sometimes the fault light would come on.
Recently, the problem has become rather problematic! Sometimes the engine does the revvy thing every few yards/few seconds or it will last for a few hours!
The local (rubbish) Renault dealer wants an hours worth of labour (48=vat!!!) just to read the code! I have a laptop and an OBD11 lead (for my other non-Renault cars) but no software.

So, without wasting any more cash on this car, does anyone have any ideas??
Currently in owelly's garage:
Espace IV, loads of kit cars (incl a Pug V6 powered one) and an ambulance....
