Battery Charge Fault

My 51 Reg Laguna 2 broke down on me the other day it came up Battery charge fault on the motorway and all the electrics went a bit crazy, I decided to try and get to the next slip road before I pulled over but after about 200 yards the car died completly after putting a new battery on and testing it the chatge at the battery was only 8 - 9v.

As the alternator was only 8 months old I took it back to where I got it and sure enough the regulator was knackered so they replaced it, however I have fitted the new alternator but car is still saying Battery Charge Fault.

Any ideas?
