Last week a "friend" of mine had an accident where he was in the right lane of a road, went to do a u-turn and in swinging around clipped a car coming up the inside lane.
Now his car is fine, just a scratch but the other car, an old Peugeot 205 has a dented wing on the drivers side. One week on the guy has come back saying he got quotes and its 300 odd quid to fix it. For 150 a friend will do it for him and he wants paid before getting it fixed in cash - I suppose so the parts can be bought.
What's a reasonable response in these circumstances. Should my friend pay up the £150 and be done with it? Should he not admit liability (he's not really sure what happened or where the guy came from) and consider either compromising ie £100 or not giving anything at all towards repairs?
