As the bonnet lock is exposed to water ingress it requires a means of repelling the water and also some lubrication. In all honesty I have never used any of the teflon products but I do know lithium grease is excellent at the job as it provides long lasting protection and lubrication. It sticks like s**t to the perverbial blanket. It is used extensively in the marine environment. I was able to buy a spray can for around £3-50.
