hi root-two,getting the cam belt changed is the most sensible thing you can do,especially as you have just bought the car and do not really know its history, plus the amount of mileage you say you will be doing,so no you are not being paranoid at all.
I'm not being paranoid? There's a first - In my line of work paranoia is part of the job description
Had a trawl through the service records whilst reflecting on my screenwash-related cockup and cursing Renault's lousy labelling. Turns out the cambelt is the original so it's getting replaced - I'm heading to the top of Scotland in the New Year and don't relish the thought of my engine self-destructing in the middle of nowhere
(being paranoid again, see?
Ta for the help, folks.
