Thanks Chris

Anyway, the reason I was taking the drum off, was that I was get a schreeching noise under braking (not always). I'd replaced the pads in May, so thought I'd better have a look at the rear.

The shoes were badly glazed, so I assume that's what was causing the noise. I've got the glazing off with wet 'n' dry (hope that was OK to use).

However, I was slightly alarmed by the remainig thickness of the shoe lining furthest to the rear (is that the trailing shoe). There only appears to be about 2mm left.

But then I look in the manual (I only have the one for the 98 to 01 model) and it quotes the thickness when new as only 3.3mm including the shoe and the minimum as 2mm (inc shoe), so it seems that mine are OK for a while. Those measurements surprise me though.

I'll have a go at the nearside tomorrow.
