One disadvantage I found with doing this is, it makes you look a right plonker (or car thief) when it happens as you are driving. This situation is made worse if you don't notice it or can't pullover to sort it out.
You might find that PC Plod takes more of an interest in you/your vehicle if the larm goes off while in motion!
Sorry to drag this post back up, but I had this exact thing this morning (minus the PC Plod interest...).
I have already unplugged the siren (the same issue as Dexter - alarm going off at 2-3am and upsetting the neighbours
), so at least I wasn't going along the road with a screaming car!
Upon arming and disarming the alarm, the red LED blinked four times, stopped, blinked four times again and then turned off - I gather this is the "your alarm went off" notice?
I have taken the car to a local "Renault specialist"
who claims to have reduced the sensitivity - it obvoiusly didn't help!
Any ideas where the bonnet sensor is located (and don't say on the bonnet - a bit more detail is needed!)? Is there anything else I should be checking?
Many thanks for any advice...
