I understand that it depends on what speed the scooter is capable of whether they can be driven on the road or the pavement. Also I heard that there are moves to make the owners have insurance as there currently is no requirement to do so.

Many years ago when i was 19
, i was waiting for my other half whilst he was in the bookies placing a bet. I was in our 1.4LX Ghia (lovely she was!).
This guy walked out the pub (in a drunken fashion!), got in his scooter and reversed out of his space right into the back of my car. There was little damage and the police weren't really interested, so we let it go and he went off on his (very) merry way.
Can they get done for drink driving??
