Heres a cheap idea woryth trying for receiving digital radio on your hi-fi. I bought a cheap freeview box from Tescos (around £12) - connected it up to the auxiliary port of my in-house hi-fi system - now I can listen to all the digital radio stations on the freeview system.
You need an outside aerial of course.
Don't have a TV, so a Freeview box is a non-starter
Getting a Freeview box would also mean I'd have to pay the TV tax, which I'm not going to do.
At the moment, I'm plumbing my portable DAB radio through my hi-fi amp using a headphone-RCA cable. Not ideal, but I don't know how much spare cash I've got until I've had my car seen to and the bloody garage still
