Hi there.

If the paint is still evident in the scratch, but you just wish to minimise the appearance, then you can either thinly apply some lacquer (using an open-ended paper clip) if the car is metallic; or carefully use a cutting compound if the paint is of the 'solid' type.

If the scratches are through the paint completely, you will need to apply a touch-up paint beforehand.
