Running Engine with card removed

During these cold mornings I go out ahead of my wife to defrost her Scenic II

My keycards for her Scenic and my Laguna are both on the same keyring and I usually start her car, remove the keycard and then start mine.

This allows me to warm both cars up while scraping the windows etc.

Is there any harm in running the car without the keycard inserted? Is it doing any damage to the electronics?

Any comments are appreciated

Currently in Zog's garage:
Laguna II Turbo Est while the better half drives a Scenic 1.4
