Hoi JJV - it would be folly to run the engine purely on veggie oil - some members have tried mixing around 25% veggie with diesel. Modern common rail engines with electronic injectors don't take kindly to pure veggie oil and considering the cost of replacing the pump and injectors would probaly be in the region of 2000 - it may not be worth the risk. Contrary to what most people veggie oil is does not have the same characteristics as diesel - for a start the viscosity, specific gravity and calaorific values are different. Do a search of the forum or the internet and you'll find numerous posts on the subject.
