If memory serves me well then the procedure is...
Scroll through the menus using the button on the end of the stalk until whatever you want to reset is displayed.
Press, and hold for a couple of seconds, the reset button on the dash. The one to the bottom left of the speedo.
On your other point I've a low mileage 51 plate 1.9 dci laguna 2 which I've had for 2½ years now and found it an ok car. Its good for comfort and toys, but in my opinion the build quality is poor. For example rear suspension bushes needed renewing at 30k. I'd have expected 130k from them. Pretty reliable car tho, its never let us down, but expect niggly faults.
