The RAID function locks the doors automatically when the car reaches a certain speed. It's basically a carjacking deterrent. You can switch it on and off by holding down the central locking button for several seconds. You may or may not hear a beep to confirm that it has activated - I can't remember with the Clio.

As far as I'm aware, none of the Clio II's came with an alarm as standard (though maybe the performance models did.) Toad came out and fitted the one on our 02 Clio Dynamique that we bought from JamJar.
