It isn't something silly like low windcsreen wash fluid level is it? The Service message display appears when the washer fluid levels are low. What model Laguna have you got?The Privilege Spec and Initiale have messages to accompany the Service light so you know what the "problem" is. I assume your model does not have this extra display?
It may not be as serious as you think, could be worth checking all the various fluid levels.

Service light also comes on if there is a fault with ABS, Airbags or Tyre pressure sensors, according to the manual.
