Hi, if they disable/remove the alarm system, then the car should revert back to the PLIP being used to lock and unlock the car and have no affect on the disabled alarm system, so your problem if it is indeed alarm related (which it sounds like) should be solved.
If at the moment you stop using the PLIP, then the alarm will probably still arm when you use the keys as the keys operate the central locking, and it the central locking that will be the arming/disarming trigger for the alarm system.
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
