Re: Sticking Hand brake
Engine compression stops the engine from turning over easily so acts as a brake.
When left in low gear, like 1st, the drive train, from wheels to engine are locked together and effectively, one big brake.
On a hill, the vehicle may creep, on the flat, it takes a lot of effort to move it.
Thanks again. I think I understand. I'd like to hope being on the flat the risk of movement is minimal.
I think I'm going to test it on and off over coming months to see how many days pass before it signals any warning of total sticking. Because it's unpredictable if and when it could occur I can't risk leaving it say over the holiday period for a week for example. I'd like to hope what the garage did has helped greatly but being the paranoid individual I am I can't settle until time proves all is ok!
